When Matt and Jeff Hardy burst onto the WWE scene in the mid-nineties, they were undersized jobbers, and that's hardly an insult. Both self-taught backyarders knew how to bump for larger opponents, making many of them look better than they actually were. Even after the brothers became mega-stars with a rabid fanbase, they would still be called upon regularly to make others look good, since they were really, really good at it.

That said, it's not too surprising that it took until 2003 for either Hardy to score a 'Mania victory. While an increasingly-erratic Jeff was on the outs with the promotion, Matt was flourishing with his self-aggrandizing "Version 1.0" persona. In WrestleMania 19's opener, Hardy scored a minor upset when he retained the Cruiserweight gold over the highly-popular Rey Mysterio. It was the first of two victories for Matt on the biggest stage, while Jeff, to date, remains 0-for-all.
