Ahh, The Boogeyman. Such a bizarre character. Far, far, far from the most technically-proficient wrestler in the industry, but a unique novelty act. Nobody would expect a Boogeyman match to be anything aside from a short bit of droll weirdness. His WrestleMania handicap match with real-life friend and wrestling mentor Booker T and his wife Sharmell was abbreviated enough, but was apparently not supposed to be as short as it was.

A full week before WrestleMania, Boogeyman was working a house show match with Booker T in Oklahoma City. During the course of the six-minute bout, Boogeyman tore his bicep, putting the WrestleMania match in jeopardy. It was later determined that he could work through the tear, but would have to keep the match short. Days after the pay-per-view, the real-life Marty Wright had surgery, and would miss several months of action.
