10 Favourites To Win WWE Royal Rumble 2020

They couldn't, could they?!

Arguably WWE's most unpredictable event of the year, the 2020 Royal Rumble is just over two weeks away!

Speculation is rife as to who will emerge victorious from both the men's and women's elimination matches, taking that first step on the road to the main event of WrestleMania.

There are the more outlandish suggestions such as Conor McGregor, Hulk Hogan or Rob Gronkowski, and then there are others like Tyson Fury, John Cena & Edge who seem genuinely feasible contenders to stand on the turnbuckle and point at the WrestleMania 36 sign.

It's rare that you can ever predict the winner of the Rumble due to the unpredictability of the event itself and Vince McMahon of course. He could decide at the last minute that Keith Lee's performance at Survivor Series merits him pouncing 29 other men over the top rope, or that this year is finally Daniel Bryan's turn, and I don't even have time to get into the fact that my pick (Titus O'Neil) has the same odds as Goldust, Rhyno, and former Premier League footballer Grant Holt.

Regardless, here are ten of the bookies' favourites to win this year's Royal Rumble and punch their ticket to WrestleMania...

10. Drew McIntyre

It's genuinely astonishing that Drew McIntyre is a contender for this year's Rumble considering where he was just a month ago in WWE. He's now got a better chance, according to bookmakers, of appearing on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All's' main event than Finn Balor, Aleister Black, and Braun Strowman.

The key reason for this sudden wave of support is his transformation into a Kevin Nash-esque figure who banters off opponents, leads the crowd in a countdown before hitting his finisher, and basically doesn't give a f*ck.

It's over ten years since Vince McMahon introduced 'The Scottish Psychopath' as a "future world champion" but it seems that WWE's opinion on the 34-year-old hasn't changed much in 2020. When Triple H was asked about McIntyre potentially becoming WWE Champion, the signs were good:-

"I think it’s a possibility. Drew has had an incredible run, started off at such a young age, and he’s still so young now and he’s kind of just coming into his own now as a performer, really. I told him that the sky is the limit for him.”

Disregard the fact he hasn't won on pay-per-view since Survivor Series 2018; he's exceptionally talented with bucketloads of personality, he fits Vince McMahon's mould to a tee, and he'd have a phenomenal encounter against either champion.
