10 Forgotten WWE Main Events Everyone Needs To See
10. Fatal-4-Way (Capital Carnage 1998)
There's no way anyone was expecting this one to kick off with a UK-exclusive event, but here it is.
1998's Capital Carnage, held in the cosy confines of the old London Arena, was largely a house show card that barely had storyline consequence. It was sandwiched between the much more important Survivor Series and Rock Bottom shows, and yet neither of those pay-per-views had a match as rip-roaring as Carnage.
Reigning WWF Champion Steve Austin waged war with The Undertaker, Kane and Mankind in a Fatal-4-Way that also had Vince McMahon on guest colour commentary, Gerald Brisco as special ref and Vinnie Jones as a guest enforcer. The sight of footy bad boy Jones brandishing red cards was definitely campy, but it was also good, clean fun.
Brawling was the order of the day in this fun romp through everyone's greatest hits. Austin threw up middle fingers and hit Stunners, 'Taker hinted at the satanic madman to come, Kane showed off his chops as a damn fine worker and Mankind shone behind Austin as a sympathetic babyface.
