In 2004, WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero was locked in a heated rivalry with the George Bush€™esque, John Bradshaw Layfield. Their characters were natural rivals due to Guerrero€™s strong Mexican patriotism and JBL€™s attitude toward foreign born people coming into America. JBL and Eddie were soon at war over not only the WWE Championship, but the way they saw the world. If JBL could rid WWE of Eddie, he figured he could crush the hopes of anyone else like him, while Eddie saw beating JBL as defeating the entire system that was designed to vilify his countrymen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMzFsKRgBg4 The matches were physical. Upon contact Guerrero crumpled to the ground, as the sound reverberated throughout Staples Center. After a flash of the camera to JBL, Eddie was shown with blood flying from his skull in a fashion that would make Ric Flair€™s razor blade jealous. This singular moment was replayed on numerous €œDon€™t try this at home€ video packages, and is a major reason blood or blading isn€™t a regular part of programming anymore. It€™s a miracle Eddie didn€™t instantly collapse due to blood loss, it€™s truly not for the faint of heart.
