10 Greatest DDT Variations In WWE History

7. Edge

Okay, so technically speaking Edge got his version of the DDT from his mentor, Gangrel. But it was the Rated-R Superstar who took the move to greater heights and really made it his own. Edge€™s DDT, dubbed the Edgecution (who doesn€™t love a pun?), incorporated the usual DDT set-up, though with the notable addition of height. Via a combination of his opponent€™s assistance and the grabbing of the tights, Edge would raise his victim€”often to an entirely horizontal position€”before bringing them back to earth. That elevation made the move as much of a slam as it was a driver, which of course created the perception of a more effective attack. Had Edge not already possessed the Spear as a finisher, this would likely have been his chosen method of killing off an opponent. As it happens though, the move was often used as simply a signature manoeuvre for a close finish. Don€™t let that take anything away from the effectiveness of the technique though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJeHDadiKvM
