10 Hall Of Famers Who Fell Out With The WWE

Hulk Hogan isn't the only Hall of Famer to be disowned by the WWE at some point.

So, that Hulk Hogan 'thing'. All a bit crazy, right? Well the Hulkster is unfortunately not the first Hall of Famer who the WWE has had a fall out with or who they’ve moved to distance themselves from.

Over the years, Vince McMahon and his powerhouse sports entertainment monster have fallen out with many a superstar, quite often with some of the biggest names that the industry has ever seen.

Whether they were in the right or not, Vince and his company have regularly washed their hands of some of the wrestling business’ most iconic figures.

Some of these falling outs have happened before a superstar made up with the WWE and took their rightful place in the Hall of Fame, whilst other incidents have taken place with performers who have already been given their place in the prestigious Hall.

Hogan isn’t the first Hall of Famer to court controversy, and he certainly won’t be the last, but there really does look like no way back for Hulk at this point. Some legendary names have managed to rebuild their burned-to-the-ground WWE bridges over the decades, so let’s take a look at some other iconic names who have been shunned by Vince McMahon et al.

10. Roddy Piper

In terms of turbulent relationships, Hot Rod and the WWE have the type of relationship that wouldn't look out of place on an episode of Jerry Springer.

Piper's relationship with the company goes way back to the mid-'70s and has been full of enough ups and downs to make a man dizzy. In an industry where firings and rehirings are commonplace, Roddy has butted heads with Vince McMahon many a time, which is largely down to Piper's willingness to speak his mind regardless of the consequences.

It took until 2005 for Piper to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The road to the HOF was anything but easy.

Having returned to the WWE at WrestleMania XIX, Roddy was released by the company only a few months later after discussing some of the darker elements of the wrestling business during a HBO feature. Piper's comments saw the WWE immediately decide against using him on any more shows, and they quickly moved to distance themselves from the Rowdy One.

Even after entering the Hall of Fame, Piper's work with the WWE has often ended on a sour note.
