10 Huge Signings WWE Must Make In 2018

8. Rey Fenix

Look, we get it: WWE have a terrible track record when it comes to booking masked wrestlers.

Rey Mysterio was the last veiledluchador they were able to get over, and the company have mounted several failed attempts at replacing him. The original Sin Cara botched his way to failure, and the second flopped too. Kalisto is too one-dimensional to be anything more than enhancement. Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado are rotting on 205 Live.

These examples don't bode well for a guy like Rey Fenix, but the ex-AAA star is too good to ignore. His brother Pentagon may attract more attention, though Fenix is a better athlete, a slicker worker, and an altogether more well-rounded competitor. A dazzling high flier who never fails to get over with the audience, Fenix represents the best chance WWE will ever have of building another Mysterio-esque masked star.

There's no real hurry to sign Rey, as he's still only 26 years old, but WWE would be acquiring one of this generation's most important lucha standouts. His booking would need to be spot on, though, particularly on the main roster.
