10 Inactive Wrestling Veterans Who Could "Do A Goldberg"

Shawn Michaels is only two years older than Goldberg, you know.

Just one year ago, it was almost inconceivable that Goldberg, fast approaching his landmark 50th birthday, was about to return to WWE, beat Brock Lesnar clean (in 86 seconds, no less) and claim another world title reign, before occupying one of the headline spots of WrestleMania 33... and yet here we are.

Throw in Shane McMahon's (admittedly, slightly less welcome) in-ring return over the course of the past year, and it seems like comebacks are, err, making a comeback.

Before wrestling fans get too excited, though, recent years have also reminded us of the intense physical toll of the business, and it's that grueling punishment that means most retirees - either through personal choice or the advice of doctors - tend to stay retired for good.

As for the rest - those wrestlers who (seemingly) retired with a clean bill of health and, if fans are to be believed, miles left on the clock - we like to think there's a slim chance we could one day see them back in the ring. Dare we dream?

10. The Undertaker

Has WWE officially announced Undertaker's retirement? Has he himself released any statement to that effect? Well, technically no, but the fact that he left his ring gear on the Citrus Bowl canvas, and then shared a tender, non-kayfabe moment with his real-life spouse, is widely taken to mean that 'the Deadman' is done with wrestling.

But what if he's not? Whilst there's no question, given the above, that Undertaker walked out of Orlando intending for his match with Roman Reigns to be his last, it's also known that he had previously performed a U-turn on retirement (albeit without officially playing out the full-blown, emotional WrestleMania exit).

Is it likely? It's about as likely as Goldberg returning was a year ago, and unlike the former WCW star, Undertaker has proven ring rust is no obstacle to putting on great matches.
