10 Incidents That Led WCW To Destruction

Where the big boys play... and forget to work.

For a number of years WCW was the top wrestling organisation in the world. The arrival of the Outsiders combined with Hulk Hogan's heel turn and formation of the NWO helped the company take the world by storm and allowed WCW to consistently top the WWF when it came both to television ratings and overall popularity. With a roster of talent that could be rivalled by few other companies in the world at any point in time, it looked like WCW would be able to dominate professional wrestling well into the new millennium. Unfortunately it all went south as the company failed to plan for the future and struggled to fully contend with the sleeping behemoth that was the WWF. After only a couple of years enjoying the heady heights of the professional wrestling boom the company was brought down to Earth with a bang as the WWF upped their level of intensity and, in doing so, managed to start contending with and eventually besting Eric Bischoff's vision. Terrible use of talent, horrendously self-centred booking and mismanagement aplenty all contributed to the overall demise of the company, however for many fans there were a litany of incidents that all pushed WCW further towards the edge of the cliff they would eventually plunge right over. Here are some of the standout moments that played a large part in losing WCW its fanbase, eventually leading to the promotion's death.
