10 Indie Stars Ruined By WWE

8. Akira Tozawa

What's Akira Tozawa even up to these days? Last we heard, he had formed a random tag team down in 205 Live, which is about as far away from the main roster you can possibly be without being formally released.

Mostly, his lowly position on the card seems to be attributable to how small is. At five foot seven, he's one of the shortest members of the cruiserweight division, let alone the WWE roster at large.

At the very least, though, you would expect Tozawa to be at the forefront of the high-flying ranks. He's exactly the sort of guy around whom the entire show could be built, particularly if the emphasis is now going to be placed on what happens in the ring rather than on the microphone.

Sadly, this doesn't look like becoming reality any time soon, which means that the highlight of his WWE run remains a couple of half-decent matches with Neville last year - a far cry from his time in Dragon Gate and PWG.
