10 Infamous WWE Royal Rumble One Hit Wonders

One shot to make the main event of WrestleMania...

As we all know, the modern day Royal Rumble is a direct ticket to the main event of WrestleMania for anyone, no matter how unpopular they are. Every year, 30, or 40, men take to the ring and battle it out with that one clear goal in mind. Of course, not everyone has a realistic chance of winning given their positioning on the card but that doesn't stop the Rumble being arguably the most compelling event of any WWE year. The WWE's upper card guys are the men that are given all of the hype heading into an event. WWE purposefully hand picks five or six guys to base the over the top rope spectacular on which sets up either a memorable crowning glory or an unforgettable failure. Look at 2002's event for a fine example of this. Triple H made a triumphant return by winning the Rumble after 'that' quad injury while The Undertaker was eliminated by Tough Enough's Maven. Unlike The Undertaker, who would be back for many years to come to gain revenge on that shock, there are some huge names from the annuls of WWE history that only get one shot at winning the Royal Rumble. The men that appear in this list pre 1993 wouldn't be bothered about this as a Rumble win wasn't worth anything more than pride back then. Post '93 however, a title shot at 'Mania was introduced and made the event a completely different story. Here are 10 wrestlers that made no more than one fledgling appearance in the Royal Rumble match.
