It's going to be hard for WWE to top what happened at WrestleMania 34 and the Greatest Royal Rumble (a second stadium show in quick succession), but full focus must now go on maintaining that kind of momentum for the rest of the year. Again, that's no easy task when the months post-'Mania are routinely a time overall fan interest sags.

All eyes will be on ensuring SummerSlam, the next major pay-per-view on the calendar, has a fighting chance. It's not going to unless WWE address some glaring issues that are holding aspects of the product back first.

There's a confusing brand split that needs careful planning, an absent, part-time champion who does little on Raw but show up to bounce on the spot as his manager spouts pre-match hyperbole, and an authority figure who has run his course in the role. Then, there's a genuine female celebrity who needs a marquee opponent to retain her aura and a "top babyface" who really doesn't match that description.

These are issues WWE have to confront before rolling into New York's Barclays Center on 18 August, and they're unavoidable...
