The Hardy Boyz made a shocking return to WWE at WrestleMania 33, surprisingly entering the RAW Tag Team Championship ladder match and taking home the titles. The return was undoubtedly one of the high points of WrestleMania 33, with Matt and Jeff getting one of the biggest reactions of the entire night.

Whilst the nostalgia surrounding their return certainly was infectious, the truth is that both Matt and Jeff have grown out of tagging together. The last 12 months have seen Matt Hardy reinvent himself as one of pro wrestling's weirdest characters, whilst it is easy to forget that when Jeff Hardy left WWE in 2009 he was one of the biggest babyfaces on the roster.

The Hardys can give WWE a lot more than a Dudley Boyz-esque tag team run, and Matt and Jeff may well get singles pushes further down the line. Matt Hardy may be the better character but Jeff has always been the in-ring champion - WWE's roster has never been better suited to Brother Nero.

That roster has changed immensely in the eight years since he was last in WWE, and a whole new list of potential opponents are found in the promotion. The next couple of years could see fans treated to a host of dream matches that they never thought they'd see.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
