10 Longest Gaps Between WWE Title Defences

10. 85 Days - The Miz (United States)

The Miz United States Champion

The Miz is one of those pro wrestlers who seems to be a much more engaging character with a championship in tow. Mike Mizanin has won plenty of gold throughout his career, and his first singles championship came in the shape of the United States Championship in 2009. It was largely forgettable.

The Miz's second United States Championship run in 2010 was a bit more notable, although that is purely because Daniel Bryan was the man to end it. Miz won the title and then defended it against the former champion (R-Truth) a week later, before seemingly going into hibernation.

85 days passed between his victory over R-Truth and his follow-up championship defence, which was a win against his former tag team partner John Morrison.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
