The 2017 Royal Rumble is right around the corner, and more so than any other night of the year the statistics really come in to play.

Video packages will throw numbers at us from every angle, bring up the best of the best in the history of the Royal Rumble. We will be told that Roman Reigns holds the record for eliminations in a single appearance, that Kane holds the overall elimination record, and that only two men have ever won the Rumble after starting the match.

Two. Yes, only two.

At the end of the day, the Rumble is all about endurance. Five men have lasted over an hour in a Rumble match, three of whom went on to win that very same bout. If a competitor spends a long time in the Rumble then the chances are they are going to have been involved in a number of eliminations along the way.

This isn't always the case however, and in the 29 year history of the Royal Rumble there have been a number of examples of men lasting more than 25 minutes in the Rumble without causing a single elimination. A niche record for sure, but it has brought some of the most perplexing Royal Rumble performances in history.

Here are the 10 longest Rumble appearances without causing a single elimination, the worst of the best that the Royal Rumble has to offer.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
