10 MORE Wrestlers Who Hated Working Together

9. The Can-Am Connection

The Can-Am Connection barely lasted a year, but Tom Zenk and the perennially underrated Rick Martel were clearly together long enough to build considerable bad blood, as evidenced by the way they split.

Zenk was seeing Martel's sister-in-law when they came together in 1986, competing first for the Montreal International Wrestling Association. The duo had signed with WWE by that November, and feuded with groups like The Dream Team, Islanders, and a Bob Orton/Don Muraco tandem, maintaining a steady presence all the way to the following summer.

The Can-Ams went their separate ways that July, though Zenk had been disgruntled for a while. Martel's previous run as a two-time WWE Champion (and a recent spell with the AWA World Title) meant he was seen as the more valuable commodity. Thus, he was on a bigger salary than Zenk, which reportedly led to Tom angrily walking out of the company after confronting management about the situation.

Tensions remain, even 30 years later. Zenk and Martel still take shots at each other when interviewed, and while their disdain for one another only manifested in one noticeable flashpoint (Tom's departure), it's generally accepted that Zenk was stewing long before his walk-out.
