Visions danced in everyone's heads of all the dynamic, exciting feuds he could have. All the wonderful dream matches fans had been waiting for years to see.
What did they get? Big Cass. The result has been what you'd expect.
Now, granted, Daniel Bryan doesn't have to be pushed straight to the main event, especially when it's clear they're telling a story with AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, but people want to see Daniel Bryan wrestle in good matches. Not carry around a lumbering greenhorn like Cass to bring him up a level. Bryan should be tearing it up Andrade "Cien" Almas, not doing some contrived David vs. Goliath toss.
Sure, Bryan is set to face Samoa Joe next week in a Money in the Bank qualifier, but you know deep down in your cynical heart Big Cass is gonna get involved and ruin this dream match. You know this feud is gonna go into at least SummerSlam.
