10 Most Disastrous Wrestling Heel Turns

9. Colin Delaney

Colin Delaney's heel turn in 2008 sits in that great tradition of head-scratching WWE booking decisions that seem only to be detrimental to the wrestler in question (see also: having Dolph Ziggler surrender the US Title back in December).

Here, the consequences were pretty severe. Delaney was released from the company altogether less than a month after swapping his wimpy good guy persona for one as a back-stabbing turncoat.

As with Eugene, it was just impossible to take him seriously as a bad guy. Since debuting on ECW, Delaney had spent almost 100% of his time in the role of punching bag to the roster's biggest and meanest wrestlers, with Tommy Dreamer the only one prepared to give him the time of day.

When he decided to burn his bridges with the Innovator of Violence, costing him his chance at the ECW Championship in the process, the reaction was one of confusion rather than anger or frustration. The character development needed for something like this just wasn't there, making it feel like a swerve for the sake of a swerve.
