10 Most Divisive Figures In Wrestling History
9. Shane McMahon
Prosecution:
A relatively new addition to the pantheon is Shane, but you're all probably bored of reading about Eric Bischoff at this point. Look at that smug face. What right does Shane McMahon have to be smug? Probably an inherited wealth bigger than Virgil's d*ck. He can't be best pleased about his worked punches, which look as bad as Jenna Morasca's slaps but land with the brute force of Heidenreich's unwelcome sexual advances. He can do a serviceable impression of a good wrestler, even if the logic behind his act is as nonexistent as his chances of reclaiming his status as heir to the WWE throne.
Defence:
That King Of The Ring 2001 match with Kurt Angle was an absolutely awesome blend of psychology, heat, and brutality. When he's not incongruously pretending he's the Hardest Man Alive, there is a performer under that ridiculous, scorched suntanned skin. He's also a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car bada**. The guy survived a helicopter crash. I'm scared to go in one. I don't trust the way they move.
Author Verdict:
These words have been written on this Author Page before...but if Shane McMahon is so good at wrestling in storylines, why doesn't he do it all the time? As a babyface, isn't it a bit rich for him to stay fresh ahead of his twice-annual match? Again: if he was portrayed as a limited talent out of his depth, it would be fine...but he is the Hardest Man Alive.
