Needless to say, when it comes to injuries, there are many options to choose from with the hardcore legend. There was that time The Rock attempted to turn Mankind’s brain into scrambled eggs, the catalogue of pain he endured at Hell in a Cell in Pittsburgh or that time Triple H pedigreed him face first into thumb tacks. But here, we take a look at the life threatening accident in a match with Vader in Germany that cost him an ear.

Going for a hangman dive, Foley was unaware of the rope tightening performed by the ring crew earlier that day. His head became tangled between the top and middle ropes and he began to suffocate. Fortunately, Foley and the referee were able to free him before the disaster proved fatal. With severe tearing on both ears, Foley went back to work, losing one of the ears completely thanks to Vader’s stiff style. The referee picked the severed ear off the floor and the match continued.

At Slamboree in 1994, Foley was scheduled to win his first WCW title with a tag win teaming with Kevin Sullivan. Forced between winning the title or going in for surgery to reattach his ear, Foley went for the gold. To this day he can homage that poor cop from Reservoir Dogs just a little too well.
