10 Most Notorious Hulk Hogan Urban Legends

10. Hulk Hogan Was Originally The Name For The Foreman Grill

Hulk Hogan Foreman GrillStory: The George Foreman Grill is a great product that was introduced back in 1994. It's easy to use even for people that don't know how to cook well. You can put it on your counter top, plug it in and off you go. Foreman is one of the most famous boxers ever. The company that designed this product (Spectrum Brands) wanted a celebrity spokesman because they figured if a celebrity endorsed it then it might do well then if it was just called a regular grill. Hogan has told a story that when the company was looking for a spokesman he was the first one that they called. Since he was out picking up his kids when they called they ended up asking Foreman if they could use him to endorse it and then he said sure. Hogan told this story on his reality show Hogan Knows Best as well as many other interviews. There was also another version of the story with Hogan meeting with his agent to talk about three choices of products to put his name on it: A blender, a grill and a meatball maker. Hogan passed on the grill and told his agent to give it to another client, which ended up being Foreman. According to reports, Foreman pocketed a reported $200 million from the George Foreman Grill. Hogan ended up endorsing a blender that didn't sell very well and he also had the "Hulk Hogan Ultimate Grill" that was a failure also. Hulk GrillWhy People Believe It: It's a sympathetic story to make people feel sorry for Hogan. Think of it like a wrestler doing a storyline to get people to like them more. Hogan knows how to work people as well as anybody. Should We Believe It: No. The story seems very fishy. Think about it. If the company called Hogan first and they really wanted him to endorse the grill then they would wait to talk to him instead of ignoring him because he was unable to talk on the phone at the time. Also, the fact that the story was on a "reality" show like Hogan Knows Best also suggests it's a farce because those shows tend to create stories to garner attention, which is what this did.
