The howls of anguish in some corners of the fandom were audible from here to the moon when WWE announced their intentions to run a PG product from 2008 onwards. Without blood to back up gimmicky stipulation bouts on pay-per-view, profanity to pin down promos on TV, and the best aspects creeping over from the old Attitude Era, the show would surely suck?

Not quite.

In the decade since, the promotion has presented some of the best World Champions ever. This is an examination of that excellence, and it's not reliant on title reign length either. Sometimes, the number of days a wrestler held the top prize is important to their success as champ. Other times? Not so much, and it's far better to look at how much quality they squeezed into that stint instead.
