Arguably, The Four Horsemen were the greatest faction in the history of pro wrestling. A strong statement for sure, but one that a lot of fans will agree with - so effective were the original Horsemen (comprised of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard, along with manager J.J Dillon) that they have pretty much been the benchmark ever since, and the blueprint upon which many - predominantly heel - factions have been built. Other memorable groups include the original nWo, as well as D-Generation X. Both were remarkably similar, and it has been argued that the then-WWF created DX to counteract the success of the New World Order in WCW. Whatever the case, both were outstanding for their own reasons, but would eventually dilute to the point that their importance was lessened. That's a major problem with a lot of stables, promoters end up pushing different members into the core unit, ultimately watering them down and diminishing their impact. Then, there are those factions that seemingly come out of nowhere, don't really serve much of a purpose and never really make a splash. This list looks at 10 of the most notable examples, spread across WWE, WCW, TNA and even the old USWA. These groups weren't all that successful, with many really only making up the numbers!
