Not even former World Champions were free from McMahon's axe in 2014.

2014 was certainly a crazy year for the WWE. In the last 12 months the WWE created and has proceeded to cement three bright new stars in Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Brock Lesnar dominated 2014, shocking us all by ending the Undertaker€™s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 30 and then going on to destroy John Cena at Summerslam to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. 2014 also saw the rise of NXT, their quarterly special events and the superstars of the future like Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze, Finn Balór, Hideo Itami and Kevin Owens. 2014 also had its fair share of surprising releases. That€™s right, several people were released by the WWE in 2014, from a Punjabi giant, to a main event playah, to a beer tossing timekeeper and more than one former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion. It€™s terrible to see anybody lose their job, but some of the WWE€™s releases this year were more shocking and painful than the others. This week we€™ll take a look back at some of WWE€™s Most Shocking Superstar Releases of 2014. From guys that were there for close to a decade, to guys that were only with the WWE for a cup of coffee, several people found themselves on the outs of World Wrestling Entertainment, and today we remember and honor them.
