10 Much Loved WWE Superstars Who Ended Up Despised

CM Punk, from hero to zero.

WWE superstars are amazingly popular. They inspire rabid fan followings, earning a level of reverence that is usually reserved for cult figures. A current example is Daniel Bryan. Fans love the guy. But can you ever imagine a day where they genuinely despise him? It seems unimaginable right now, but that's the fate that has been suffered by many cult heroes in the past. One minute you are adored, the next minute you're abhorred. And this isn't anything to do with a pro wrestling storyline or character turn. It is all down the natural perception of the real personalities. Fans will buy into a wrestler in a big way, only to down the line decide that their hero wasn't all quite what they were cracked up to be. It can be brutal in its nature. It isn't just going from liking to disliking, it is more about worshipping to despising. A lot of the factors behind this are down to fans being marks. They buy into a 'character' being the actual real person, when in fact they actually know very little of the human being. And sometimes, it proves that popular wrestlers are horrible human beings. Here's how some of the most over men in pro wrestling history ended up being the most genuinely despised men in wrestling history.
