Since today is July 4th, which is Independence Day in the United States, we thought it would be the perfect time to take a look back at the most patriotic American wrestlers ever. Since WWE is a company based in America, they've employed hundreds of American wrestlers over the past thirty years and beyond. There are plenty of names that could fit under the idea of listing proud American wrestlers, but what about the ones that had gimmicks that are purely based on the idea of being American heroes or villains? There have been several of those in WWE history. We are actually seeing one of those patriotic angles in WWE right now as Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter have stood up to the "Russian" duo of Rusev and Lana, who have taken shots at America for the past several months. This past week on Raw, Swagger got cheered as he and Colter stood up against Rusev. It was a rare occurrence where the fans sided with Swagger, who has been booed for the majority of his WWE run.
