'The Beast' and 'The Champ' have had a series of outstanding matches since Brock Lesnar emphatically hoofed Cena's bright green snapback into the crowd the night after WrestleMania XXVIII.

Debates rage as to if Extreme Rules 2012's bloody war of attrition outperformed the brave decimation of 'Big Match John' at SummerSlam 2014, but those contests and choice further unions between the two iconic talents proved that Cena/Lesnar is a well full enough to return to following the passage of time.

Though a Universal Title clash between Brock and Roman Reigns had been mooted for WrestleMania 34 since before Lesnar had even polished off then-Champion Bill Goldberg at the 33rd edition of the show, there are other ways to furnish Roman's almighty reascension, and a Cena/Lesnar retread could be the blockbusting bullfight the 'Show Of Shows' has desperately missed over the past few years.

Cena's involvement in the Universal Title picture at that point could require a victory in the Royal Rumble though, which may divert attention from some key underneath talents that perhaps deserve a victory in that match to signpost their own road to WrestleMania. The last time the company gifted the match to a faded star, all hell broke loose...
