Extreme Rules is over for another year, and the most common reaction to the show is that it was a "mixed bag".

We got an incredible I.C. Title match, an entertaining main event (for the most part) and a few other decent bouts, as well as a few dull and forgettable stinkers.

With a little tinkering, however, Extreme Rules could've been much more than the glorified filler PPV it was, advancing feuds in meaningful ways, handing titles to those who desperately deserve it and actually living up to the show's own title.

While not every smarky wish was even possible or ultimately beneficial for the end product, these plausible, reasonable pointers would certainly have made Roman Reigns' inevitable victory over AJ Styles seem a little less painful.

Here are 10 quick fixes that would've improved Extreme Rules 2016...

10. Cut 10 Mins From Jericho/Ambrose, Give It To Literally Anything Else

One of the biggest complaints of the entire PPV was that the Chris Jericho-Dean Ambrose Asylum match ran far, far too long at 26 minutes in length.

This was reportedly due to a 10-minute segment being scrapped late in the day, and so rather than spread those extra minutes among a few matches, WWE's booking geniuses just gave it all to one of the clumsiest, most awkward matches on the whole card.

Considering how laughably short the Tag Title match was, running just over 6 minutes, it sure could've used some if not all of those 10 minutes. Or hell, just slap all that time on the insane I.C. Title Fatal 4-Way, because we're pretty sure we could've watched that match all night.

A 16-minute Ambrose-Jericho Asylum match is probably still too long, but at least it wouldn't feel anywhere near as exhausting as the final product did.
