There's really no excuse for Bayley not being called up.

The highly-anticipated WWE Draft has come and gone, and the general consensus online seems to be that it was a staggering disappointment, despite giving Smackdown its first ratings victory over Raw since 2003.

What's most frustrating is that the draft could so easily have been WWE's most exciting, unpredictable and entertaining TV broadcast in years, and yet WWE ignored some of the most basic elements and decisions that fans were craving.

From a perceived lack of effort through to some outrageously off-base draft picks themselves, most of the big issues could've been remedied with some relatively quick fixes and made fans a lot happier. Instead, WWE's New Era kicks off in enormously underwhelming fashion with a lacklustre attempt to emulate the big-time feel of "real" sporting drafts.

Here are 10 quick fixes that would've improved the WWE Draft 2016...

10. Less Actual Wrestling

The bulk of Smackdown Live's two-hour broadcast wasn't so much concerned with the draft but actually putting on a show comprised of, how dare they, wrestling matches!?

There were a staggering seven matches on the card (even if one never officially started), and honestly, the entire broadcast could've done without even a single match and just focused on the theatricality and fun of the draft itself.

These matches were blatantly done so fans in attendance felt like they got their money's worth rather than spending the whole night staring at the stage, but honestly, the show would've benefited from a lot less wrestling and a lot more time devoted to this supposedly iconic night in the history of WWE.
