10 Reasons King Barrett Is Dead In The Water

Hey Wade, I'm afraid we have some bad news...

Poor Wade Barrett. Even though the Lancashire native has always performed to the best of his ability, regardless of what the WWE creative team have thrown his way, it seems he simply can't catch a break. That is, up until the Englishman was handed the prestigious notion of being the 20th King Of The Ring winner in WWF/WWE history. On the surface, this represents a tremendous achievement for Barrett, and perhaps that's all it should be viewed as, but wrestling fans just can't shake the idea from their heads that winning the King Of The Ring isn't quite what it used to be - winning the tournament used to symbolise upward mobility in the company, but it seems those days are long gone. For Barrett, a man who has headlined WWE Pay-Per-Views and wrestled against some of the biggest stars in the industry, the phrase, 'it is what you make of it' has never really been fair. As aforementioned, the man has done everything in his power to reach the top in WWE, but it seems to elude him continually. So, why does Wade Barrett winning the King Of The Ring fill some fans full of doom and gloom? Well, brace yourselves for some pretty bad news.
