10 Reasons Sting Vs The Undertaker Is No Longer A WWE Dream Match

The possible WrestleMania 32 headliner is beset by problems.

One of the expected main events at WrestleMania 32 is Sting versus The Undertaker. It is a dream match that has been years in the making. On one side you have the embodiment of the WWF, on the other side the embodiment of WCW. Even beyond that, the match made a lot of sense for other reasons. Both characters are dark and enigmatic. They're veterans with a history of spectacular big match performances. Even those fans who were too young to remember the Monday Night Wars, they still get caught up in the narrative of the legends. But the plans for WWE to run Sting versus The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 are misguided. What was once a dream match is now so diluted that it would almost be an insult. There are several factors that undermine the long sought after match. Some of these are the fault of WWE, others are down to the men themselves. It seems more appropriate at this point for WWE to go in another direction. Separate matches for Sting and The Undertaker would allow both men to ride out their careers on a high. Legacies are at stake and the 'dream' could turn into a nightmare if WWE was to go ahead with Sting vs Taker next year. There's several major reasons why it is no longer a dream match.
