10 Reasons To Be Excited About WrestleMania 33

It might be the literal Grandaddy Of Them All - but it's hardly going to be toothless.

Once again, we find ourselves on the road to WrestleMania.

With the 33rd annual bash looming large on the horizon, it should be a time for any self-respecting grapple fan to be chomping at the bit with excitement. But we've been burned in the past by the show of shows. It doesn't always turn out to be the spectacle we'd like it to be.

The biggest problem WrestleMania has had in the past is that the surrounding hype has tended to eclipse the event itself. It then becomes a show crushed by the weight of expectation and, instead of being a celebration of wrestling, it becomes an overblown mess.

It's understandable, then, that a sense of cynicism is already surrounding this year's event. This has no doubt been fuelled by fears of an uninteresting main event, an over-reliance on part-timers (no change there) and potentially no Seth Freaking Rollins. Again.

Fear not though, because it's not all doom and gloom. As the late, great Ian Dury once said: There's reasons to be cheerful.

So let's channel that power of positivity, and clap along for our 10 reasons to be excited about WrestleMania 33...

10. Tag Team Title Matches

The WWE tag team division has a tendency to go through more ups and downs than your average Seth Rollins medical check-up. In the past it has felt like a forgotten child, consistently neglected and unfulfilled. But things are on an upward trend at the moment, and this could result in some decent Championship matches at Wrestlemania 33.

Anderson and Gallows might still be holding the Raw belts, with likely challenges from either New Day, Enzo and Cass or Cesaro and Sheamus. It wouldn’t even be a surprise to see all four teams duke it out and hey, that’s just fine by us. They're all worthy contenders and a Fatal 4-way title match should be a great, action-packed contest.

On the SmackDown side, expect American Alpha to still be champs as we roll into Orlando. The heel version of the Usos (you know they're heels now, because they wear bandannas) might face them, but don't be surprised in the event of a WWE curve-ball here. There's a possibility that The Revival might be called up to face Alpha at WM33. That really would be something else.

None of this looks good for Heath Slater and his kids though. Sadly, it doesn't look like daddy will get any WrestleMania bonus pay this year. That second above-ground pool might just have to wait.
