10 Reasons Why AJ Styles Won't Meet Fans' Expectations

Is the 'Phenomenal One' really all that phenomenal?

You're probably already seething at the very notion of AJ Styles being anything less than a 10-time WWE Champion, aren't you? Before you go sharpening your pitchforks, hear me out. It goes without saying that AJ Styles is one of the greatest independent and international performers of all-time as he begins his tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment. That much simply cannot be disputed. After all, the guy is a five-time NWA/TNA World Heavyweight Champion, a six-time X Division Champion, a two-time King of the Mountain Champion and a six-time NWA/TNA World Tag Team Champion and was the first to complete the TNA Triple Crown Championship - and that's not even mentioning his impressive list of achievements with Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and other groups. Although it was heavily rumoured beforehand, Styles' debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble was must-see viewing solely due to how surreal it was that a TNA mainstay and a man of his renown had finally joined WWE after having plied his trade elsewhere for almost two decades. Having originally declined a WWE development deal in 2002 because the relocation would clash with his wife's college plans, it's likely Styles would never have become the independent scene juggernaut he is today had he taken the offer. Now that here's in the big leagues, it's assumed by many that AJ is ready to take WWE by storm. Sadly, this will not be the case, and here's why...
