10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Be Worried About WrestleMania 33

The road to WrestleMania is full of potholes.

The dust might still be settling from the Royal Rumble, but it's time to start focusing on the biggest wrestling show of the year. WrestleMania 33 takes place just two months away on April 2nd, and while Fastlane and Elimination Chamber both come beforehand, the next few months are all about the Showcase of the Immortals.

The card is already starting to take shape. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg and Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal are certainties, and we know that Rumble winner Randy Orton will fight for the WWE Championship, most likely against Bray Wyatt.

Aside from these matches, new reports suggest that WWE are in the process of setting-up Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho, The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns, and a host of others.

This is the most star-studded roster WWE have had in years, but the proposed card is full of giant holes, and Seth Rollins' injury leaves WrestleMania down a major match. The company made a hot start to 2017 with the Rumble, but things aren't looking so peachy for their flagship pay-per-view...

10. Unclear Tag Team Plans

WWE still have plenty of time to come up with a couple of compelling tag team storylines ahead of WrestleMania. There hasn’t been a peep about the company’s plans for either set of titles yet, however, and that’s a bad sign given the current state of the divisions.

Things aren’t too horrendous on Raw, but new champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows still have a sizeable credibility problem after months of jobbing to The New Day. Sheamus and Cesaro, meanwhile, have had their “coming together” storyline cut off at the knees, and whether they end-up finding cohesion again or splitting up, they’ll only be going round in circles.

SmackDown is where the real concern lies. American Alpha are a great team, but they have no credible competition. Heath Slater and Rhyno’s glory run is over, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton are out of the picture, The Usos have become passengers, and the other teams can’t string a win together. The blue brand’s division is an uncoordinated mish-mash of momentum-less teams, and there’s little sign of improvement.

There wasn’t a Tag Team Title match on last year’s show, and both brands’ champions could be set to miss-out in Orlando. There were points during The New Day’s reign where it felt like WWE were genuinely trying to make tag wrestling feel important again, but those days feels like ancient history now.
