When Drew McIntyre was fired from WWE in 2014, he had plenty of unfinished business in the company. He never truly lived up to his full potential, so it was exciting to see him return in 2017 considering there is a large chance he will still make it to the main event scene one day.

As for Alberto Del Rio, he has already been to the mountaintop, multiple times in fact. It didn't take him too long to capture his first WWE Championship during his initial run with WWE, before winning an additional three world titles.

Not only that, but Del Rio is also a former two-time United States champion and has won the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank Ladder matches. Throw in a short stint in the tag team division alongside League of Nations in 2016 and he has essentially accomplished everything within WWE.

In other words, Del Rio fulfilled his self-proclaimed destiny close to a decade ago, and thus there's nothing for him to strive for if he were to come back.
