Alberto Del Rio's meteoric rise to the top of WWE in 2011 saw him rub shoulders with the very best in the business at the time: Edge, Christian, CM Punk and John Cena. Most of the matches he had with those individuals were pretty good, but his biggest opportunity to shine came against Cena that fall when they feuded over the WWE Championship.

The Mexican Aristocrat had all the tools necessary to be a major star for years to come ... so long as he could have a great match with Cena. Ultimately, he failed, because their Night of Champions encounter was hardly anything special (not to mention he lost clean). That could have been chalked up to a number of things, but when they didn't deliver the goods at Hell in a Cell or Vengeance, only their stunning lack of in-ring chemistry could be blamed.

That continued to be the case any time they did battle in the years that followed (including in 2013, 2015 and 2016). Here's hoping we've seen the last of these two producing mediocre matches together.
