10 Stars With More WWE Title Reigns Than They Deserve

WWE's unique philosophy on regular title changes means that all across the card, there are people who have accumulated a vast array of gold.

WWE.comWWE.comIn this modern age of the WWE, it seems there is a clear distinction between two different types of wrestler - and it is whether you're a face or a heel anymore. It is either guys who deserve a lot more title opportunities than they have actually had (read Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk etc), and guys who have simply hogged too much attention, and grabbed way too much gold. When Ric Flair won his 16th world title (a number he'll likely stick on, even though he refuses to fully retire), there can't have been many wrestling fans that assumed any WWE star would even get close to overtaking him. But over the last 20 years or so, the WWE has adopted a mindset where instead of pinning a championship on one man and giving it some real prestige, championships are now easier to win than claiming a goldfish at your local fair. There are times when you look at the CV of a WWE star and wonder: what exactly did you do to pick up so many titles? And it doesn't even have to be world titles. The WWE's unique philosophy on regular title changes means that all across the card, there are people who have accumulated a vast array of gold. Of course, there are more than the 10 who make the cut in this instance, but for a number of reasons, these are the guys who picked up way more title reigns than their careers deserved.
