10 Strongest Booked Wrestlers In WWE Today

Monsters, five-footers, and everything in between...

The way WWE utilise their talent has been a source of fan criticism for years. The argument is more pertinent today than ever before, because while WWE currently have the biggest roster they've ever assembled and hours of weekly television to fill, the likes of Cesaro and Sami Zayn never seem able to grab the proverbial brass rings.

While it's true that WWE generally struggle to push more than a handful of wrestlers at once, these complaints tend to be exaggerated. There are only so many spots at the top of the card, and though there will always be swathes of under-pushed wrestlers sitting around at any given time, when WWE have faith in you, they'll push you to the moon. Sometimes, WWE just absolutely nail a wrestler's booking.

There's no limit to how far a performer can go with the company's promotional machine behind them, and for every wrestler currently let down by bad writing, there's another soaring through careful, attentive booking. The fans don't always respond as intended, but although WWE's star-making machine isn't as effective as it used to be, they still know how to make a wrestler look strong, as demonstrated by these modern-day examples...

10. Baron Corbin

Though Baron Corbin’s win/loss record has been spotty lately, he remains one of SmackDown’s most imposing wrestlers. He overturned his WrestleMania 33 loss to Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight just two days later, and while he technically lost to AJ Styles twice on consecutive weeks, one was a count-out, and the other a lucky Sunset Flip, both of which protect ‘The Lone Wolf.’

As things stand, Corbin looks set to receive the Braun Strowman push on Tuesday nights. He is being set up in the exact same way as the former Wyatt Family man (by running through Sami Zayn), and if recent reports are to be believed, WWE officials see him as SD’s next big heel. It’d be a huge surprise if Corbin isn’t deeply entrenched in the WWE Title scene by summer, and there’s a strong chance he’ll have his hands on the gold by the year’s end.

Corbin has made huge improvements since joining the main roster, and is starting to feel like a genuine top tier threat. He’s not the finished article, but he’s a far more compelling opponent for Randy Orton than Jinder Mahal, and given his show’s lack of heels, his ascension makes perfect sense.
