10 Superstars That Hit Rock Bottom After WWE

10. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts

It is a sight that everyone thought was impossible, Jake 'The Snake' making his entry into the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame. Roberts, whose height of popularity was in the 1980s, was initially fired from WWE in 1997 after a failed comeback attempt due to drug and alcohol abuse. Shortly after the much lamented film 'Beyond the Mat', which followed three wrestlers at differing points in their careers, chose to follow Jake as he was at one of his lowest points. Wrestling in small-town venues, Roberts was filmed smocking crack in a hotel room while attempting to reconcile with his daughter, as well as joking about a growing number of sexual dalliances while travelling. After years of substance abuse which had debilitated his body, The Snake was contacted by his prodigy Diamond Dallas Page. Page got Roberts to try the DDP Yoga program and ultimately invited his mentor to stay with him at his home in Georgia. Roberts got fit enough to return to the ring at a number of independent shows and has maintained his sobriety to this day.
