Sibling on sibling violence has been a staple part of professional wrestling going back to the days of Owen and Bret, but - to most - the 2009 feud between the Hardys was kind of lame.

Mainly, this was because of accusations of bad taste, stemming from the part of the angle that saw Matt attack his brother and leave him unresponsive in his hotel room at Survivor Series (which brought back some rather unpleasant memories of Eddie Guerrero's death three years earlier).

It also didn't seem like a particularly good time to do it. Jeff had just broken into the main event when Matt decided that they had some issues to work out, meaning that he missed out on a potential spot in WrestleMania 25's World Heavyweight Title match.

Whatever the background noise, though, the brothers did share a pair of impressive matches, first at 'Mania itself and then in a brutal "I Quit" match the following month at Backlash, where the Charismatic Enigma tied his opponent to a table to force a submission.
