Withholding judgment of his tactics, Vince McMahon's accomplishments as a wrestling promoter dwarf those of any other promoter ever. Still, wrestling is often ignored by the mainstream media, so the man is still viewed as something of a punchline to the larger sports and entertainment worlds. It's nice to see that, on a couple of occasions, he has been honored for all he's done. In 2008, McMahon was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Since 1958, the Walk of Fame has offered everlasting recognition to contributors in the field of entertainment in the form of a star with their name engraved on it embedded into the Hollywood sidewalk. Perhaps even more significant, though, given his family's history, is the star McMahon received on Madison Square Garden's Walk of Fame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7f5v-87wC8 As a third-generation promoter in the world's most famous arena, and given the fact that New York City (and MSG in particular) is considered WWE's unofficial home, it only makes sense.
