The demise of the Hype Bros must rank as one of the most distressing occurrences of 2017, depending on how much you love neon wrestling gear. If you detect any sarcasm in that sentence, then feel free to run with it. Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder have hardly set the world alight in any form over the last 12 months, but believe it or not, there might be a way to fix this entire mess.

The former tag team partners will go up against each other on the Clash of Champions Kickoff show, and the most likely result is Zack pinning Mojo after six minutes, before Rawley gets his heat back after the match. It is almost guaranteed to go down that way.

Instead, WWE would be wise to add a bit of spice into the whole thing. The match shouldn’t even get started; Mojo should brutally attack Ryder before the bell. Rawley’s heel persona could be the making of the former football player - doing something other than wrestling a routine match may yet find him getting, at least, a byline.

The feud gets ramped up another level as a result, and both men are given something to do that isn’t spinning their wheels. Even if this is little more than a television feud, it pays to put a bit more effort into the whole thing.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
