WWE Survivor Series is a Thanksgiving tradition, and a frequently shocking one at that. Who could forget the Montreal Screwjob, the Corporate Champion or Goldberg's obliteration of Brock Lesnar? The last of WWE's annual 'Big Four' has its detractors, but the pay-per-view has also provided some of the most memorable moments in the history of professional wrestling.

The 31st edition of the second-longest running pay-per-view event in WWE history isn't expected to provide any shocks of the magnitude of those above, but it is shaping up to be a fascinating evening nonetheless. What could have been Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal has become Lesnar vs. AJ Styles, a genuine dream match that is a decade in the making. Fans have wanted this one for a long time.

The show is all about RAW vs. SmackDown, as red and blue collide to decide which brand is superior. WWE will set up the road to WrestleMania in Houston this Sunday, and certain things must happen for that journey to be a smooth one.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
