10 Things We Learned From Chris Jericho’s WWE To AEW Podcast

10. He Scoffed When He First Heard The Khan's Plans

WWE Vs AEW

Jericho can come across as a bit of big-leaguer. What does that mean? Well, it means he's reached the point in his career where he's seen and done it all, and that can cause him to transmit a bit of an aloof vibe in some interviews. The guy isn't exactly gonna' believe everything from everybody, in other words.

And he didn't believe Tony Khan's new wrestling project would be worth much, whoever he is.

Jericho made a point in his pod to admit that he was doubtful of AEW when he first heard of it. It's not hard to see why. Throughout his near-30 years in the biz, Chris has seen an awful lot of wannabe promoters come and go. He's seen people attempt to use wrestling as some sort of 'get rich quick' scheme, and he thought Khan might be the same.

He was slightly interested though, and so agreed to meet with Tony without ever thinking he'd work in his new promotion if it ever got going as a WWE alternative. That's when Jericho's head was turned; he learned more about what the family had done and recognised they wanted to have a real stab at the industry.
