Once Sasha Banks started cultivating her 'Legit Boss' character in NXT, it didn't take long before she was deemed a star of the future. The persona was inspired by Sasha's cousin Snoop Dogg, and it helped her come out of her shell. Turning from shy, happy babyface to bragging, big-time heel, she found her calling.

Rather unbelievably, NXT's creative team had previously told Sasha she was really only there to make others look good on the brand. That included her best friend Bayley, but Banks was careful not to put a strain on the relationship. Instead, she focused her attentions on coming up with the 'Boss' character and rerouting her own career.

When the new gimmick started to get over with fans, creative changed their tune and viewed Sasha in a whole new light. With that, she gained even more confidence and knew she was on track to make the splash she had always wanted. Had the writers not been so cutting, who knows how things might have turned out.
