10 Things We Learned From The Post-WrestleMania WWE Raw

WWE's latest '24' Network Special was a typically absorbing look behind-the-scenes of an episode of Monday Night Raw that has become one of the most divisive in recent years.

Whilst always considered a season premiere of sorts for the company following their WrestleMania finale the night before, the post-show edition of Monday Night Raw has taken on a life of its own thanks to travelling crowds sticking around to end their wrestling vacations on a final high.

Whether you view the audiences at these events as toxic or tip-top, it's undeniable that the chants and songs have gradually woven their way into the fabric of the WrestleMania weekend.

The documentary appeared to be an acknowledgment of this, with WWE almost trying to take ownership of the situation using laughable soundbites from the usual suspects about how 'great' or 'wild' the fans are on this one night a year, as if to justify a very hardcore section of the audience vocally disapproving of half the major booking decisions.

Nonetheless, the crowd still did everything they could to cling on to control during 2017's post-WrestleMania telecast, and made no secret of where their feelings of disdain and delight were likely to be directed during the next calendar year.

But how would Raw shape that year following the 'Ultimate Thrill Ride'?

10. Re-Braun

Through no fault of his own, Braun Strowman had a pretty lousy run-in to WrestleMania 33, and an even worse night at the 'Show of Shows' itself.

Staring down early elimination in the jobber-filled Andre The Giant Battle Royal, Strowman at least got his own entrance music down the mammoth ramp, but didn't have cameras anywhere near him as he left.

It was a criminal waste of one of the company's best projects since last year's Draft separated the 'Monster Among Men' away from the Wyatt Family.

Proving that all was not lost, WWE sent Braun out to go face-to-face with brand new Universal Champion Brock Lesnar less than 24 hours after The Beast claimed the gold.

Though the two never resorted to physicality, it was an important visual to see Strowman literally and figuratively on the champion's level if only for a night.

Roman Reigns was the target for both, with Paul Heyman calling out 'The Big Dog' to face Brock as a fellow member of the Undertaker WrestleMania victory club, but Strowman took exception to somebody else taking over his unfinished business.

An eventual clash between the two is mouth-watering, and this hopefully signposted Braun's future as as bright as it looked before the Reigns/Undertaker programme chipped away at his aura.
