10 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Becky Lynch

10. Her Gimmick Is A Disguise

Lynch originally debuted as a generic Irish babyface, the kind of gimmick that never gets anyone very far before it needs to be changed. After she turned on her then-friend Bayley and teamed up with Banks, Lynch started flashing devil horns and swinging her hair in circles, which was apparently meant to signify her new heel character. The €œheadbanger chick€ gimmick, however, doesn't extend past her entrance; in informs neither her in-ring style nor her backstage interviews. In truth, Lynch's gimmick is simply that she's a bad-ass. The headbanging serves to immediately inform viewers that she's more tomboy than supermodel, but it's an aesthetic, not a character, and as a result, Lynch's character is instead a product of her work between the ropes. And between the ropes, Becky Lynch is experienced, efficient, and dangerous.
