When wrestlers are released from World Wrestling Entertainment, they tend to go one of three ways; those with experience on the independent scene before their time in WWE may well head back there, renewing contact with past bookers and promotions. Some leave the sport altogether, feeling that once the WWE dream is over there's not much else to achieve.

Some with little indy experience find themselves moving into the scene post-WWE however, and Jinder Mahal was one of these. He was a little lost to begin with, and as such had to reach out to those who had experienced similar things after being released.

Step forward Mason Ryan. It was Ryan who Mahal spoke to first after his release, and the big Welshman told him to set up an email and various social media things immediately. To Mahal's surprise, the bookings began rolling in almost instantly.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
