The wrestling world is still abuzz with the news that three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has been suspended for a violation of the company's wellness policy. As the suspension was announced on Tuesday, June 21, Reigns will be cleared to return to action on July 21 - three days before the Battleground Pay-Per-View, where he's currently slated to participate in the main event.

Undoubtedly, many of Reigns's legions of detractors hope that he's removed from that match, despite the fact that it's the long-awaited Shield triple threat bout. Such a move by WWE may herald a change of opinion, a sign that they've finally given up on trying to make the former enforcer of The Shield the top babyface in the company. If they haven't, they can expect the negative reactions from fans to intensify upon his return.

What happens with Reigns is still up in the air, but one thing's pretty much guaranteed - he'll continue to be a huge part of the company moving forward. Like it or not, he's been earmarked as a major part of WWE from the very beginning - perhaps longer than anyone realizes. How long, exactly? Keep reading for the answer to that question, as well as many other interesting facts about "The Guy."

It's common knowledge that Reigns is part of the famous Samoan wrestling dynasty, which stretches back in WWE for decades and in the sport for even longer. His lineage is mentioned on TV every time he appears alongside his cousins, former WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso. His immediate family has made a mark in WWE, as well - his father is former WWE Tag Team Champion Sika, and his older brother Matt wrestled for the company as Rosey.

Still, Roman Reigns is more than just the latest champion in a family that happened to have a lot of wrestlers - the sport was all around him as a child. Growing up in Pensacola, Florida, Reigns had a wrestling ring in the backyard where - as he described it - men like Yokozuna and Rikishi would practice their art. Reigns and The Usos were exposed to all of that pretty much from birth, and they knew they were destined to be a part of it.
